Archive > Action/Ritual, Cassandra King

The pieces in Action/Ritual explore the way the body moves while undertaking everyday tasks and the meditative path these tasks bring to the surface. The figures in the works are performing recognizable movements we make every day - folding, placing, bending and spinning. The purpose of their movements remains unclear and what they are creating is open to interpretation. The ambiguity of the works reference the uncertainty and excitement associated with any beginning.

The works have been created using calico, acrylic, thread and drawing materials. Using a variety of and experimenting with various mediums is often Cassandra's inspiration for creating work. The combination and exploration of texture, pattern and mediums is essential to the artist's practice.

Exhibition runs from 6pm, 1st of April - 3pm, 14th of April 2016.
