Archive > Christopher Strong, Finding Flowers in Human Cities
Exhibition runs from 6pm, 17 April - 3pm, 30 April 2015
For somebody born in Albury, cities can sometimes feel massive, complicated and endless. I can easily find comfort by stopping and focusing on something simple or small, like a flower. Works in this exhibition, mostly watercolours and gouache, are inspired by travels in Asia and include some of the paintings I completed while an artist in residence in Nanjing and Beijing last year. Christopher Strong is a self-trained Melbourne-based artist who has been painting for three years. He sold work privately, contributed as an artist to community and government initiatives, and has been exhibited in China. This is his first solo exhibition in Melbourne. He has experience and education in marketing and communications, and has worked as a professional and freelance writer.
