Archive > Courtney Blackney, Residue

Exhibition runs from 16th October to 3pm, 29 Oct 2015.

Melbourne based media artist and composer Courtney Blackney is a Fine Art graduate from RMIT University. Courtney works within the realms of sound, composition, video and photography as well as sound design and installation.

Through her practice, Courtney explores ideas of place, perception and vulnerability as well as the unnoticed and forgotten. A collector of sounds, her style is organic and her work is sculpted into soundscapes of environmental immersive experiences.

This exhibition is an exploration of process and perception through works that are linked by their heredity. Derived from objects of waste, the pieces provide a window to an abstracted place. Familiar yet unknown. Soft yet unsettling.

The viewer is encouraged to experience the durational works in full, contemplating their relationships to our environment and our residue within.
