Archive > Hearth, Deirdre Keenaghan

Hearth translates to the word for home, firestone and also the Latin word for charcoal. Deirdre Keenaghan's work explores the notion of home and the conflicting meaning for people who move around the world.

Deirdre's work compares landscapes of the Northern and Southern hemispheres, using ideas of pared back colour and form. She explores the areas in which she has lived and the varying landscapes, considering herself to be the modern day nomad. Nevertheless, she tries to create a constant idea of home for her family wherever she goes, taking the idea of the hearth with her to each place.

Exhibition runs from 6pm, 5th February - 3pm, 18th February 2016.
