Archive > Simon Wilde, Quasar

Exhibition runs from 26pm June – 3pm 9 July 2015.

Steel, petrol, poison, acid, fire, bleach, rust, industrial cleaners, scourers and chemicals. Not the typical ingredients of a painting. That's why this work is so unique. Through a muscular process of experimentation Wilde has created a singular body of work, of which these pieces represent an intriguing sample. The work is abstract with no quarter given to representation. It is unsentimental in its veneration of decay and destruction. Yet at the same time it aspires to a transcendent beauty.
