Archive > Synnecrosis, Christian Evans

Christian Evans often starts a painting by using a kitchen whisk, favouring the strange and varied shapes it can create. The artist then looks at these first foundations, as though being subjected to a Rorschach test, and begins to identify something that speaks to the artist's emotional memory. From there, the work is based on what the artist has seen in the 'inkblot'. These stories may vary but the emotions found within them always run a similar course; love, grief, tragedy and betrayal.

Exhibition runs from 6pm, 15 April - 3pm, 28 April 2016
